The cotton mill on the brink of closure after more than 50 years

The cotton mills of Chiang Mai have closed their doors after more years of neglect.

The Chiang-kai district government announced the closure of the Cotton Mills and Millworks on Thursday.

It was announced that the Cotton Mill Works and the Cotton mills were to be demolished on Friday and a memorial to those who died in the factories would be built in their place.

Chiang-Kai district is home to the cotton mills, the largest of which are located in Chiangmai, the industrial hub of Chai Bai.

The district is famous for its stunning views over the Mekong River and is famous as the epicentre of the country’s economic and social development.
