Cotton shirts are now available in Ireland for the first time in almost 30 years.
The new, state-of-the-art clothing industry in the Republic of Ireland was launched in 2017 with the introduction of the Irish Cotton Shirt Industry (ICSI).
This is the latest instalment in a long-running, global trend that has seen the rise of a new, global brand, Irish Cotton, which has become a major player in the market.
The ICSI is now available across a range of products and is being sold by the likes of American retailer Forever 21, as well as major international brands such as Zara, Banana Republic, and Prada.
ICSI is a major move for Irish consumers, as it is the first of its kind in the world.
The clothing industry has traditionally been a highly competitive one, as consumers want to be able to wear their favourite clothing brand whenever they want to.
However, as the world becomes more and more globalised, it is increasingly difficult for brands to maintain their exclusivity in certain markets.
The rise of global brands and the rapid expansion of the apparel industry has resulted in a demand for a new and more affordable option for consumers.
While there are a number of companies that offer cotton shirts and jackets in Ireland, it will be interesting to see how the industry evolves in the coming years.
